Elections Our April meeting will be the month for election of new officers. Bob & Brenda are ready to turn the offices over and step down.
Yard sale Our spring yard sale will be held on May 8th. So every one has time to get their items ready.
VE testing Charles Solomon has tentatively scheduled the next VE exam session for May 15th. Ed Shelby is checking the availability of the Church meeting room for that date.
Meeting start time. The group discussed and agreed to keep the meeting start time at the current time 5:00PM.
Public Ham Radio promotion event. Ed Shelby presented the new sign for the events. He is also checking on a plan to set up the display on the town square during the Gobblers Gala event or Wal-mart.
Repeater back up Bob asked the group to consider a plan to add a backup battery to the STARS repeater. He reminded the group that the repeater was down 2 1/2 hours due to an electric service power outage.
Charlie discussed a possible issue with Astron power supplies experiencing a surge from lightning and feeding over voltage to the repeater.
Bill, stated that the battery needs to be a distance from the repeater equipment due to fumes.
Bill also stated that on two different occasions, the back up batteries have been stolen from the site.
After some discussion Bill made a motion that we buy a battery and install it. Charles Solomon seconded the motion.
Mystery prize. Bill Wiseman brought another mystery prize and this month's winner was Anita Shelby winning a nice Christmas ornament. This added 5.50 to the club account.
Janie made a motion to adjourn and Judy seconded.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:20
