Charles Solomon's father, Charles, passed away during the night of February 18th. Our prayers and sympathies are with Charles and family.
Bob announced that the County Emergency manager, Barry Whitt, is considering a SkyWarn Storm Spotter class if there is enough interest. Any persons interested in the class should contact Barry at 931-363-1342.
Bob spoke about the recent weather alert here in the middle Tennessee area and how the ham radio station at the Nashville Weather Service was conducting a net. The Net Control relays severe weather bulletins as they are released and asks for reports of damage or severe weather conditions from a representative in each county. This information comes from the local nets as they become activated in each county.
This linked repeater system conducts a training net every Monday evening at 8:PM CST and can be heard in this area on the Lawrence repeater on frequency of 442.725 tone 100hz.
Brenda passed around an item she had found at Walgreens. This item consisted of a red beverage cup stocked with various items most of which are what we normally buy for the residents at the Sunbridge Home. Brenda felt to help save the club money for Christmas, wrote a club check for 86.70 for 79 bottles. Still needing to be bought are men's socks' puzzle books and snacks.
A club check was written to Jane Plunkett to help offset the cost of yarn for the women's knitted booties. The club greatly appreciates the hard work Jane puts into these booties every year!
No old business this month.
